It’s time for DFCF the Greek’s week 2 college football picks. I made you a lot of money last weekend … if you took my picks and went the opposite way on every one. A first week 0-3 record is not the start I envisioned when I came up with this new feature. Heck even my strongest leans went 0-4 with one push. If it keeps going like this you’ll see this feature die a quick death. Hopefully my picks are better this week. Let’s get to ’em.
Virginia at Southern Cal (-20)
Southern Cal didn’t look so hot against Hawaii last week, but it’s tough to travel to Hawaii and take a football game serious. I see them trying to make a statement in this game. Virginia is traveling all the way across the country to play a more athletic and deep USC squad so this one shouldn’t be close. Lay the points.
Penn State at Alabama (-12.5)
The Tide won’t have Mark Ingram today, but Trent Richardson will do just fine in his absence. I think Penn State is overrated and Alabama should be favored by more points so this is strictly a value play for me.
Duke (+5) at Wake Forest
I think Duke is the much better team in this one. This line seems a little fishy to me and the last time I thought a line for a Wake home game was fishy was last year when State opened as a 2.5-3 point favorite at Wake and by game time Wake was a 2.5-3 point favorite. We all know how that turned out, but I’m still taking Duke and the points.
Season Record: 0-3 (-3.30 units)
That’s my top 3 picks and here are my 5 strongest leans: Michigan State (-26.5), Eastern Michigan (+14), Iowa State (+13), Florida State (+7), Notre Dame (-3.5). Good luck!
