What a bummer last week. The game I liked most was our game, but I didn’t want to jinx it by putting it in my top 3 so I picked some other games and went a big fat O-fer. I’ll take a Wolfpack win, though, so it’s all good with me. After starting out the year hot (6-2-1 through the first three weeks) it’s been back to a lot of bad picks and I’m dead even on the season with both my picks of the week (11-11-2) and leans (19-19-0). Stupid me should have just picked LSU, Alabama, and Stanford every week and just lay the big points because those three teams have been covering machines (combined 20-3 ATS with an average line of -20.5). Unreal!
Well let’s try to get back on the winning track. Here are DFCF the Greek’s week 9 picks:
#20 Southern Cal at #4 Stanford (-7.5) WIN
Sticking with what I said earlier, I’m gonna ride the Cardinal’s ATS winning streak. It’s smarter to ride the hot streak than try to pick when it ends because you’ll only be wrong once. Think about it. Give me the Cardinal to put on a show for ESPN’s College GameDay and win comfortably over the Trojans.
#14 South Carolina at Tennessee (+3.5) LOSS
This is my upset pick of the week. South Carolina has struggled lately since Garcia was kicked off the team and Lattimore got injured so this just feels like a game where the Gamecocks lay a big egg & get beat. Give me the home dog.
#22 Georgia (-3) vs. Florida (in Jacksonville, World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party) WIN
The Bulldogs have been getting better and better as the season’s gone along while the Gators continue to get worse. It is a rivalry game so crazy things can happen, but Mark Richt really needs this win and he will have his team ready for this one, no excessive celebration penalty will be needed this time. Give me the Dawgs.
Season Record: 11-11-2 (0-3-0 last week)
Here’s a few leans (sides I like but something kept me from pulling the trigger) for this week as well: Wake Forest (+6.5) L, Clemson (-3) L, Iowa State (+14.5) W, and NC State (+19) L. Season leans record: 19-19-0 (4-1-0 last week). Good luck!
