If you’re an NC State fan on Twitter you’ve been inundated with the term “NC State shit.” A lot of State fans seem to revel at the opportunity to throw that term out there, but every team on the planet has plenty of WTF moments so it is by no means exclusive to NC State. Sure we’ve had a lot of those kind of moments over the past couple decades, but it feels like the tide is slowly turning away from that. The win over FSU last week is a prime example and the best way to describe it … the “anti-NC State shit”?
It’s been a week since the Pack pulled off one of the first shockers of the 2012 college football season by beating the #3 ranked Seminoles. Let’s relive it with a few of the best videos I’ve found on YouTube. The first one follows the upset through the eyes of the fans … awesome!!
The second one is a hilarious apology from Sports Illustrated writer Andy Staples for his comments last week before the game blasting the Carter-Finley atmosphere. His quote was “To prepare for the raucous crowd at Carter-Finley Stadium — I couldn’t type those words with a straight face — FSU has saved the expense of speakers to pipe in crowd noise.” Bravo Andy! Apology accepted.
The last one is a behind the scenes look by the ACC Road Trip crew. They hit up the Vet School, the Howling Cow Creamery, the many NC State tailgates, and the game. I’m a sucker for “behind the scenes” or “all access” type stuff so … deal with it.
Us fans have another week to enjoy this win, but let’s hope the team has long put it behind them and are fully focused on the trip to Maryland this weekend. College Park has been very very unkind to the Pack recently as we’ve only won there once in the past six trips, including the heartbreaking 38-31 loss in 2010 that kept us from playing in the ACC Championship Game.
The question of the week … can the Pack actually follow up a huge upset win and beat a team that we should beat? If not, all we’ll see for the next week will be NC State shit this and NC State shit that. I, for one, hope we don’t have to go through that.
